About Cornflower

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 11 years old, my cousin introduced me to hip-hop and the artists Doug E Fresh and The Fat Boys. He also taught me how to beatbox, which I found very exciting. It was the same year that Bobby McFerrin released "Don't Worry Be Happy". What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Beastie Boys, Check Your Head Phish, Junta Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life Songs in the Key of Life my parents played in the house on repeat when I was a baby. Check Your Head was the album that catalyzed my sense of self in my high school years. Junta was the album that springboarded me onto the journey I am on now. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You Are the Medicine” The song had been birthed in 2009, and in 2010, I met Indubious. We became close friends and talked about recording a song together. This song is special to me as it represents my friendship with Indubious, and also my spiritual worldview. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing to 3,500 people at Earthdance Festival in Laytonville, CA. It felt so exhilarating to have that many people dancing to my music all at once. It was an unforgettable moment that I will never forget. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I still have MANY bucket list items as an artist, as I am just getting started. But two of those bucket list items are to headline Red Rocks and Madison Square Garden!
